Amendment C208 - Implementation of the SAM Redevelopment Project Incorporated Document

Amendment C208 to the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme facilitates the redevelopment of the Shepparton Art Museum.

The Minister for Planning approved Amendment C201 to the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme on 6 September 2017.

Amendment C201 included an Incorporated Document titled SAM Redevelopment Project, June 2017, to exempt use and development associated with the redevelopment of the Shepparton Art Museum project from the need to obtain a planning permit.

The approval of Amendment C201 allowed the SAM Board to appoint relevant consultants to work with the project architects Denton Corker Marshall, and finalise the overall design for the development. The final detailed design resulted in the identification of some areas being affected that were outside of the original site plan as provided for in the approved Incorporated Document.

In early-2018, Council formally requested the Minister for Planning to undertake a Ministerial Amendment to revise the Incorporated Document to include additional land area, through Amendment C208 to the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme (Planning Scheme).

Amendment C208 to the Planning Scheme was approved by the Minister for Planning and included in the Victoria Government Gazette on 23 August 2018.

The approved Amendment documentation can viewed online on the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning website at https://www.planning.vic.gov.au/schemes-and-amendments/browse-amendments?query=greater+shepparton+planning+scheme#Amendments--C208
