Public Health and Wellbeing Advisory Committee

The Greater Shepparton Public Health and Wellbeing Advisory Committee (HWBAC) guides the strategic direction of the Municipality’s public health policies and development of a Municipal Public Health Plan (MPHP) or Action Plan.

The committee also oversees an annual review of the current MPHP or Action Plan to capture the progress of current strategic objectives. Achievements identified help to initiate discussion toward the strategic direction and health priority focus of future MPHPs.

By working together in partnership we continue to build a sustainable and resilient multi-cultural community that celebrates and promotes our successes.

This high level Advisory Committee also ensure that we continue to plan positive health and wellbeing strategic objectives which are inclusive, sustainable and provide an environment to maximise health outcomes.

The Greater Shepparton Municipal Health Panel is made up of representatives from the following organisations:

  • Greater Shepparton City Council, including Cr Fern Summer
  • Goulburn Valley Health
  • Primary Care Connect
  • Goulburn Valley General Practice
  • Department of Health
  • Rumbalara Health
  • University of Melbourne
  • Centre for Excellence in Rural Sexual Health (CERSH)
  • Department of Human Services

Meetings occur bi-monthly.
