Businesses and individual volunteers are encouraged to participate in the Meals on Wheels program and make a worthwhile contribution to their community. Not only will they be helping deliver essential meals, but will also provide much-needed social contact for people who may be housebound.
Volunteers are required on a regular basis and once allocated to a ‘meal round’ are then rostered 4 weekly on a day that suits them. Meals are delivered from 11.15 am daily and all that is required is 1 - 1½ hours per month and a vehicle.
A voucher to assist with fuel costs is provided. Volunteers must be willing to undergo a police check and unfortunately cannot be rostered until this is completed.
