We are a group of parents, families and friends of gay, lesbian and bisexual people who meet regularly to offer support and friendship to families, particularly parents and also to members of the GLBTI community who may need support in coming out to their families and friends.
We offer support through public education and advocacy, to end discrimination and secure equal civil rights. PFLAG aims to provide a vital link between GLBTI people and the wider community.
Parents and friends have the opportunity to support the facilitation of a monthly meeting space where conversations and support can be offered. Preparing the room/space and coordinating tea/coffee facilities, chairs and a welcoming environment are just some of the volunteer roles/duties that are required. PFLAG also manages it’s own lending library of resources.
PFLAG regularly gets involved with local and state-wide events that support diversity and inclusion such as marches, rallies, market days, forums and charity work. PFLAG also manages its own website and occasionally offers comments to the media in regards to bullying in school or issues such as marriage equality. All parents and friends are welcome to get involved.
