Community Engagement

Community engagement serves to strengthen links between Council and its community and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Council decisions in response to community issues.

Council is committed to the development of a respectful relationship with the community that embraces public input into Council decision making.

Greater Shepparton City Council is committed to engaging the community in order to:

Policies

In June 2008 the Council formalised its commitment to community consultation with the launch of its Community Engagement Strategy. You can view the Strategy by clicking on the related link in the section below.

Current engagement projects

 Chas Johnson Reserve - Proposed sale of land  The Council has received a request from Shepparton Villages to purchase part of Chas Johnson Reserve, from the Council, for future growth of Tarcoola Villages.  From Friday 12 February to Monday 15 March
 Mooroopna Community Plan  Council is currently developing the Mooroopna Community Plan in partnership with the Mooroopna community. This plan will guide the direction on the town in the future, so this is your opportunity to forward your ideas and vision for the place you live.  January 2010 - March 2010
Tatura Community Plan  Greater Shepparton City Council is currently developing the Tatura Community Plan in partnership with the Tatura community. This plan will guide the direction on the town in the future, so this is your opportunity to forward your ideas and vision for the place you live.  January 2010 - March 2010
Queen's Gardens Masterplan Council is inviting submissions on the proposed masterplan for the Queen's Gardens in Shepparton 5.00pm Wednesday 24 March
Tree Management Policy Council is giving the community the chance to comment on its Tree Management Policy.  5.00pm Friday 12 March
Community Safety Plan  Council is seeking participants for focus groups aimed at providing feedback for the development of a Community Safety Plan. Focus groups will be held on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 March
