Draft Budget for 2020-2021

Greater Shepparton City Council has released the 2020/2021 Draft Budget for community feedback.

The Draft Budget has been prepared on the assumption that current restrictions relating to COVID-19 impacted Council services and the community will continue through to 30 September 2020. For more information regarding Council’s response to the economic consequences of COVID-19 please refer to this page: Greater Shepparton Economic Response to COVID-19 Package.

You are encouraged to read the budget and make a submission. You can do this online via the ‘Make an Official Submission’ form below, or write to us. You can also choose to be heard in support of your submission at a Special Council Meeting.

This year the average rate rise will be 2 per cent. This is in line with the order by the Minister for Local Government under the Fair Go Rates System. Rates income is an important income stream that allows Council to maintain existing service levels, fund a number of new initiatives and continue to allocate additional funds to renew ageing infrastructure.

The total projected Capital Works program will be $59.75 million, of which highlights include:

  • New Shepparton Art Museum (SAM)
  • Maude Street Upgrade
  • Road Renewals
