Events and/or Activity Permits

Organisations or groups planning to hold events in Greater Shepparton must obtain a permit from the Council's Local Laws department.

The completed form and relevant paperwork must be returned to our office at least two weeks prior to the event.

Fire Prevention

It is in your own interests, and that of your neighbours, to keep land cleared of all long grass to reduce the amount of fuel for a potential fire.

The Municipal Fire Prevention Officer carries out inspections prior to the summer period and if required, notices are issued to remove a fire hazard.

These notices are sent to the property owner where a hazard is deemed to exist. Failure to comply with this notice may result in a $200 infringement, and the Council will arrange for the clearing of the area and send the owner an account to recover costs.

If you have difficulty complying with a notice, please contact the Municipal Fire Prevention Officer on 5832 9741.
