St George's Road Precinct

Greater Shepparton City Council is commencing the revitalization of St Georges Road Retail precinct

The St Georges Road Neighbourhood Plan was first developed in 2015. One of the key priorities within the Community Plan was an improved streetscape for St Georges Road. To improve lighting, car parking and improve the visual landscape along St Georges Road.

The new streetscape will include additional trees and vegetation, new concrete, seating and an improved visual amenity. A concept plan has been developed by Spiire with input from key internal and external stakeholders.

Project Update:

March - St Georges Road, Shepparton

St Georges Road revitalisation is progressing well with one side of the road nearing completion. The centre medium strip works have begun and aim to be completed within two weeks.

We do ask residents to please remember to obey the road works signage.

26 March - Changed traffic conditions - St Georges Road, Shepparton

The St Georges Road streetscape reconstruction works are continuing and are due for completion in May, 2018.

To complete the works the north bound lane of St Georges Road will be closed from Monday 26th March.

Traffic will be detoured via Hayes Street for the duration of works. Only south bound traffic will be allowed to flow through the intersection during this closure.

The closure will cause a temporary inconvenience in the area and we ask for the community’s compliance with all the traffic management signage.

1 May - St Georges Road re-opens to traffic Shepparton

Council is pleased to advise the streetscape works at St Georges Road are ahead of schedule and have reopened to traffic in both directions today with the redevelopment works nearing completion.
