Victoria Park Lake Family Precinct

Greater Shepparton City Council will build a new family play precinct at the Northern end of Victoria Park Lake.

New playground equipment will be erected at the Northern end of Victoria Park Lake with a budget of $360k. The existing playground equipment near the old toilet block will be removed. The project is to be completed in the 2018/19 financial year.

The project will include:

  • Playground equipment will be for toddlers, primary school aged and teenagers
  • Including a flying fox, swings and other play equipment
  • New shelters near the playground for families to enjoy including BBQ facilities.

When will work start and how long will it take?

The playground equipment will be completed in stages from July 2018 and completed by the end 2018.

Whilst there can always be issues beyond our control that may delays works such as inclement weather we are working closely with the contractor to ensure the works are completed on schedule.

What will happen to the old play equipment currently at the North End?

The current children’s play equipment will be removed and replaced with the new equipment.

Will residents still be able to access the walking track and other facilities at the North End?

The walking path will remain open, however during the work some access will be via temporary arrangements. Pedestrian access will be provided during the works; however access will alter as the works progress.

Who will be undertaking the works?

Various speciality contractors will undertake the works. The project will be managed by Council.
