Waste collection services and facilities

Council is committed to reducing the waste going to landfill and making sure our waste is recycled or processed into other useful products. Council has a range of facilities for waste management such as resource recovery centres, a re-sale shop, and landfill site.

What bins are available?

The kerbside bin collection service includes the following:

  • an 80 litre, 120 litre or 240 litre red lid bin (landfill waste) - charge rate dependent on bin size
  • 240 litre yellow lid bin (co-mingled recycling) or 120L or 360L bin (coming soon) - charge rate dependent on bin size
  • 240 litre green lid bin (food and garden material) or 120L - charge rate dependent on bin size
  • a 120 litre purple lid bin (glass only recycling) available in 2024 - charge rate to be confirmed

Sorting your waste at home and into the correct kerbside bin is important to ensure the kerbside collection service facilitates effective waste and recycling management.
