Greater Shepparton getting into the Christmas spirit

Greater Shepparton is well and truly getting into the Christmas spirit with the installation of Christmas decorations underway across the municipality.

The installations include a 7 metre high decorated tree to be installed at the High St end of the Maude St Mall, 3 large LED bauble-filled stars at the Fryers St end of the Maude St Mall, steel illuminated trees at Queen’s Gardens and Vic Park Lake, the large gum trees at Monash Park and Vic Park Lake will be adorned with baubles and stars and present boxes and concrete candles will be placed at various locations.

All eyes will be on Victoria Park Lake this year with another exciting decoration soon to be unveiled.

Small towns across Greater Shepparton will also be installing decorations, after being successful in applying through Council’s Small Town Festive Grants program to purchase decorations.

Greater Shepparton City Council’s Manager Investment Attraction Geraldine Christou said the municipality would soon come alive with the Christmas spirit.

"Our Festive Decorations Advisory Committee members should be congratulated for coordinating an impressive display of festive decorations in our community. I encourage you all to explore the area and see exactly what we have on offer this festive season, and remind you all to support our local businesses this Christmas by shopping locally.

“I would also like to thank John Crawford Painting for working with Council to refurbish existing decorations."
