Changes to management of the Pine Lodge and Kialla West Cemeteries

Why will Remembrance Parks Central Victoria undertake the management of Pine Lodge and Kialla West Cemeteries?

Remembrance Parks Central Victoria will undertake the operations management of Pine Lodge and Kialla West Cemeteries. The arrangement will ensure that day-to-day operations for the cemeteries continue to efficiently and effectively meet the expectations of both right of interment holders and the general public.

When will this happen?

From 1 July 2019 the operations of the Pine Lodge Cemetery and Kialla West Cemetery will be managed by Remembrance Parks Central Victoria. All of the interment and reservation services currently at the cemeteries will continue after the transfer on 1 July 2019.

Who do I contact regarding purchasing a right of interment (ROI), to book a service, to update an existing record or to organise a stonemason’s permit after 1 July 2019?

After 1 July 2019 all enquiries regarding Pine Lodge or Kialla West Cemeteries should be directed to Remembrance Parks Central Victoria on 1300 266 561.

Is Remembrance Parks Central Victoria planning any changes to Pine Lodge or Kialla West cemeteries?

Remembrance Parks Central Victoria are not planning any changes to the sites and will maintain current standards delivered by Greater Shepparton City Council.

I have a site at the cemetery, do I need to do anything after 1 July 2019?

There is nothing that you need to do. All information regarding your site and any arrangements you already have in place with the Trust will be transferred to Remembrance Parks Central Victoria from 1 July 2019 to manage into the future. This information will continue to be managed in accordance with the principles set out in the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.

What will happen to my site and cemetery maintenance after 1 July 2019?

Your information and any arrangements that you already have in place regarding your site with the Trust will be transferred to Remembrance Parks Central Victoria - these arrangements will not be changed. Any personal information you have provided will continue to be managed in accordance with the principles set out in the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014. Remembrance Parks Central Victoria will ensure that maintenance at the cemetery continues to be delivered to a high standard.

How will I access relevant records after 1 July 2019?

Right of interment information will be transferred to Remembrance Parks Central Victoria’s secure Cemetery System. Remembrance Parks Central Victoria adheres to relevant legislative requirements regarding the storage and retrieval of personal information.

Will my site remain perpetual?

In Victoria a grave is purchased in perpetuity. All sites will remain perpetual after the 1 July 2019. 

I’m not happy with something at the cemetery – who should I contact?

All enquiries or complaints/feedback about Pine Lodge or Kialla West Cemeteries should continue to be directed to Greater Shepparton City Council up until 30 June 2019. As of 1 July 2019 all enquiries should be directed to Remembrance Parks Central Victoria on 1300 266 561. 

Can I see someone in Shepparton regarding my site?

Yes. RPCV are currently in the process of establishing a presence in Shepparton. Details are yet to be finalised.

How do I pay my cemetery invoice after 1 July 2019?

After 1 July 2019 payments can be arranged by contacting Remembrance Parks Central Victoria on 1300 266 561.

Will I still be able to reserve a site at the cemetery after 1 July 2019?

Yes, Remembrance Parks Central Victoria will be taking reservation applications of sites for both Kialla West and Pine Lodge cemeteries at 1 July 2019.

What will happen to my payment plan for my reservation site?

All existing payment plan arrangements for reservation sites will be managed by Remembrance Parks Central Victoria after 1 July 2019.  The only change will be in relation to how you make your payments and you will be notified of the new details in due course.

Will pre-purchase payment plans still be offered for reservations after 1 July 2019?

Yes, pre-purchasing payments will be offered at both cemeteries from 1 July 2019 by Remembrance Parks Central Victoria.

There are many advantages to pre-paying your burial or cremation, including purchasing at today’s prices and peace of mind knowing that your wishes will be honoured. Pre-paying also eases the burden on your family during an emotional time.

I want to order a new plaque or recondition an old plaque?

After 1 July 2019 all plaque orders will be coordinated by Remembrance Parks Central Victoria.  Orders and enquiries can be directed to Remembrance Parks Central Victoria on 1300 266 561 after 1 July 2019.

Will there be opportunity for community input into the running of the cemetery?

Remembrance Parks Central Victoria is committed to ensuring Pine Lodge and Kialla West Cemetery operations continue with the same compassion, empathy, dedication of purpose and pride as the existing sites within our care. Remembrance Parks Central Victoria recognise the importance of community input around the operation of the cemetery and will continue to provide a Community Advisory Committee for the region after 1 July 2019.
