Waste Services
Greater Shepparton provides a number of waste services and facilities for residents.
What Services are available?
Greater Shepparton City Council's Waste Services include:
- Weekly kerbside waste collection service to all urban residents within the municipality
- Fortnightly kerbside recycling and green organics collection service to all urban residents within the municipality
- Optional waste and recycling collection service for residents abutting the sealed road network - rural areas
- Landfills located at Cosgrove and Murchison
- Public recycling and waste disposal facilities at Ardmona and Shepparton Transfer Stations and Murchison Landfill
- Commercial disposal facility at Cosgrove Landfill
The waste collection service is compulsory in urban areas and optional in rural areas.

The Greater Shepparton City Council is participating in a service to collect and recycle mobile phone handsets, batteries and accessories through Mobile Muster.

Transfer stations accept domestic quantities of household waste and recyclables. The waste accepted at the transfer station must be acceptable for landfill and can therefore not include any liquid waste, chemicals, paint or hazardous wastes.
