On Friday 24 November, a collective of emerging young artists from diverse backgrounds in Shepparton, will light up the stage at African House with self produced beats, rhymes and catchy hooks, that tell their stories of struggle, resilience and their teenage dreams, along with a good dose of straight up swagga.

Feature artists Dorcas, Elie, Pro E, Vince the Kid, Bricky B, Claudia, Alisha, Cheryl Simaika and DJ BillWill will take you on a journey from our roots in Yorta Yorta country, to African and gospel inspired hip hop, to the smooth vocals and soul from the Pacific Islands.

The night will also include an open mic session with prizes, and Sifa Mireye will be cooking up a storm with yummy eats for sale as part of her Burundi Fundraiser BBQ.

Produced by Multicultural Arts Victoria and St. Paul’s African House, the event is part of unique new youth music mentoring program in Shepparton, Ignite Sound Sessions. Inspired by successful city based program Dig Deep at the Arts Centre, Ignite Sound Sessions is the first music mentoring program of its kind in Shepparton and for the past year participants have been coming to weekly sessions to write and record original tracks with their mentors, Momo, Francois and Bill Okwalo.

So come and get amongst it, support local talent and global thinking!
