Interim Heritage Controls - Greater Shepparton Heritage Study Stage IIC 2017

The Heritage Overlay seeks to protect and conserve all places of local cultural heritage significance.

Amendment C204 to the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme (Planning Scheme) applied interim heritage controls to the 178 places included in the Greater Shepparton Heritage Study Stage IIC 2017 (HSIIC). The Amendment was approved by the Minister for Planning and included in the Victoria Government Gazette on 20 November 2018. Interim heritage controls now apply to all places identified in HSIIC.

Given the duration of time required to prepare Amendment C205, the Minister for Planning has approved three additional planning scheme amendments to further extend the expiration date of interim heritage controls. Amendments C216, C213 and C215 have extended the expiration date of interim heritage controls to 3 May 2021.

These Amendments seek to ensure that these places are protected while Amendment C205 (permanent heritage controls) is progressed.

Amendment C205 seeks to give effect to the findings and recommendations of HSIIC by applying these controls on a permanent basis.
