June 2020: Recommencement of Childcare Fee Charges

Monday 8 June 2020: The Australian Government has announced its extension of the Early Childhood Education and Care Relief Package (Relief Package) and the plan to return to Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) payments.

The Relief Package will be extended until 12 July 2020, in line with the start of the 2020/21 CCS financial year. From 13 July 2020, CCS and ACCS will re-commence.

In line with this announcement, Greater Shepparton City Council Childcare services will recommence charging families for care used from 13 July 2020. This is applicable to Childcare provided at Nancy Vibert Occasional Care, Arthur Dickmann Childcare, Frank R Pullar Childcare and Family Day Care. The first payment will be withdrawn via Direct Debit on Wednesday 29 July 2020. This will include any outstanding fee incurred prior to the COVID-19 government changes. If you have not yet contacted us to set up a payment plan, please call 58329783 to see how we can help you.

Kindergartens (year before school) will commence the monthly instalment Direct Debit payments from Wednesday 29 July 2020.

In line with the Australian Government, Early Childhood Education and Care Relief Package requirement, services operating Long Day Care and Family Day Care, will not increase childcare fees until Monday 28 September 2020.

In addition, families who have had their hours of activity reduced as a result of COVID-19 will be able to advise Services Australia if they meet the requirements to access 100 hours per fortnight for up to 12 weeks. Families are encouraged to contact Centerlink through their Centrelink online account; through myGov, or the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app from 13 July 2020.

If you are a kindergarten fee paying family and your circumstances have changed, please contact Centrelink. If you previously paid a kindergarten fee (year before school) and now have a Health Care Card, please send a copy to Children’s & Youth Services Admin as you may be eligible to receive free kindergarten.
