Bypass Action Group
The Goulburn Valley Highway Shepparton Bypass Action Group provides advice to Greater Shepparton City Council on the development of the proposed western route and adopted staged approach of the Goulburn Valley Highway Shepparton Bypass. It operates according to an adopted Terms of Reference and has no executive function.
The Group has representatives from neighbouring municipalities, the Committee for Greater Shepparton and community representatives. The community representative positions are voting members of the Action Group and are appointed for a three year term.
To be eligible to be nominated as a community representative of the Action Group, you must be able to fulfil the Action Group’s functions to:
- act as an advisory committee to Council on issues related to the proposed Bypass;
- provide a forum to update the community and stakeholders on the project process;
- promote community participation, where appropriate;
- lobby State and Federal governments to accelerate funding of the project;
- initiate submissions and representations to the State and Federal governments in addition to the Goulburn Regional Partnership, where appropriate; and
- provide advice on marketing, branding and promotion of the western route and staged approach of the proposed Bypass.
The ten existing community representatives are appointed to the Action Group until 20 December 2024.
