Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the bus interchange moving temporarily?

Council will move the bus interchange temporarily to enable works to occur in Maude Street.

The buses cannot utilise the intersection at Vaughan and Maude Streets when the construction works are underway from a roundabout to a signalised traffic intersection.

In moving the bus interchange to another location away from the construction zone this will reduce delays for bus patrons and improve safety for community members.

Were other locations explored?

Yes, Council has explored various options for the temporary bus interchange, including the turning circle required for busses and working the PTV. The newly built bus interchange near the amenities building won’t be accessible for buses during the works when removing the roundabout. So, Council needed the temporary bus interchange to be in close proximity of the shopping precinct.

Where is the bus interchange moving to temporarily?

The bus interchange will move from its current location in Maude Street beside Coles store to Corio Street near Trelly’s retail store.

When will the bus change move and for how long?

Monday 2 November 2020 until April 2021.

Will there be changes to the bus timetables?

No, all the bus timetables will remain the same. Signage will be displayed at the existing bus stop to inform bus users of the new temporary location.

When the works are completed on Maude Street, where will we catch the bus from?

Once construction works which affect the bus routes are complete in Maude Street, residents and bus patrons will be notified by Greater Shepparton City Council when the transition to the newly built bus interchange near the public amenities building and plaza will occur.
