Concept Design Competition Brief

This competition sought a striking design of outstanding quality that will help attract new audiences and facilitate the museum’s ambitious curatorial and community/cultural programming.

It will include a strong landscape component and become an important element within Victoria Park Lake, as well as contributing to Shepparton’s urban environs. The building should:

  • demonstrate design excellence in museum architecture;
  • meet high environmental standards;
  • engage the community;
  • make a significant contribution to Victoria Park Lake and broader urban environment;
  • engage with Indigenous placemaking; and
  • provide outstanding landscape architecture and connections between the building and its surrounds.

The Competition Brief was made available via the TenderSearch website following the completion of the Expression of Interest (EOI) process.
