The new Shepparton Art Museum build involves many regional businesses and trades. Shepparton based business, Foott Waste Solutions have received Green Star compliance as a Waste Contractor and Waste Processing Facility, leading the way for the waste industry in regional Victoria.

Foott Waste Solutions are responsible for the disposal of all waste from the site including metal, plaster and timber. Many of the materials are recycled or processed so they can be used again, minimising the amount of material going to landfill.

Watch as Operations Manager Zane Foott explains the process and why the SAM project is good for their business, regional contractors and Greater Shepparton.

We talk to Cobram man Doug McDonald about the opportunity to work on the new Shepparton Art Museum. Doug is the Health and Safety Representative for Kane Constructions and manages the safety of the site workers. 

We talk to Shepparton local James Wimbridge about the opportunity to work on the new Shepparton Art Museum. James is the Contract Administrator and Green Star professional for the project.

The first level concrete pour occurred with 400 cubic metres of concrete and 10 tonne of steel involved. Kane Constructions Contract Administrator and Shepparton local Devang talks about why he enjoys working on the new Shepparton Arts Museum construction.

The building of the Shepparton Art Museum is taking shape with first level construction underway. The building core and columns have been poured and de-moulded. Coming up soon is the completion of the concrete pour for the building columns and the completion of the level one deck.

Kane Constructions national Work Health and Safety Officer, Chloe Rees was in Shepparton last week to inspect the SAM site. Her job is to do safety walks and monitor risk on the work site.

The concrete for the ground floor slab to the museum was poured today with slightly warmer weather than last week! About 350 cubic metres of concrete on 45 tonnes of reinforcing steel. The ground floor will house the Visitor Centre, Kaiela Arts and the SAM shop.

Big day today on the new SAM site with the concrete slab for the loading dock and ground slab to the art hill being poured in bitterly cold and windy conditions. The procession of yellow concrete trucks was quite impressive, with around 300 cubic metres of concrete and 60 tonne of steel going down.
