Many sports in the Goulburn Valley have members who are special and do so much to ensure the club is run successfully both on and off the sporting arena.

The Mooroopna Croquet club has had such a member who joined the club over 40 years ago.

Joyce Russell has been a stalwart of Mooroopna croquet playing in the first division of the Croquet association. She has been Club Champion in the various divisions over 16 years and has won the Goulburn Valley Junior A Division champion of champions.

Her skills include being a National coach and National Referee.

Joyce has been a great contributor to the club and has served as club president.

On the green she played for many years in pennant and was a member of a number of grand final winning teams. She has won a number of Mooroopna club individual events.

Croquet is not her only sport as she has played both indoor and outdoor bowls at Mooroopna and has been club champion.

Joyce is always available to assist wherever needed at the clubs she is involved in. She is concerned about the welfare of all participants and readily volunteers for fund raising and keeping in touch with members.

The Mooroopna Croquet Club think so highly of Joyce and thank her for her incredible service over more than 40 years.

The City of Greater Shepparton Sports Hall of Fame is pleased to induct Joyce Russel as an honour roll member.
