White Ribbon, the national movement preventing men's violence against women, is on the lookout for young males 16 to 25 years old, keen to learn more about White Ribbon and make a difference in Greater Shepparton.
White Ribbon knows that young men are needed to help drive change and end violence against women in Australia. One in four women are affected by domestic violence in Australia and we all need to work together to help put a stop to it.
Gandel Philanthropy has given White Ribbon the opportunity to engage and educate 20 young men in North East Victoria.
Activities will include:
- Learning about White Ribbon Australia
- Connecting with other White Ribbon Ambassadors
- Supporting local events on White Ribbon Night (28th July) and White Ribbon Day (25th November)
- Taking the White Ribbon Oath: I will stand up, speak out and act to prevent men’s violence against women
- Workshops on healthy, safe and respectful relationships
- Evaluating and helping create new online resources and videos for youth
At the end of the one year pilot, you will be invited to a Graduation Ceremony where we will celebrate your efforts in driving change. You will also be offered the option of joining the full White Ribbon Australia Ambassador Program.
