MAY 2022 COUNCIL MEETING

A Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday 17 May 2022 at 3.00pm. The meeting will be held at the Riverlinks Studio 1, 90 Welsford Street, Shepparton or virtually (if required).

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS – NAMING OF PARK

The Greater Shepparton City Council has received a request to name the park within North Quarter Estate (shown hatched on plan). Council has determined to give public notice to formally name the park as Roche Park.

Any person affected by this decision is invited to make a submission whether for or against it.  Submissions are encouraged, as they enable Council to consider public comment before making a decision.

The Naming Rules for places in Victoria allows the Council to consider only written submissions, to be received no later than 5pm on 4 April 2022.

If no submissions are received by this time, it will be assumed there are no objections to the proposal. Submissions should be sent to council@shepparton.vic.gov.au or by post to Greater Shepparton City Council, Locked Bag 1000, SHEPPARTON VIC 3632. Submissions should be titled ‘Call for submissions – Naming of Park’.

Greater Shepparton City council (Council) has prepared Amendment C228gshe to the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme (Planning Scheme).

The Amendment applies to the land at 560 Archer Road, Kialla and 7265 Midland Highway, Mooroopna. The proposed Amendment seeks to apply a Public Acquisition Overlay (PAO) to parts of two parcels of land to realise regional walking and cycling links in Kialla and Mooroopna.

You may inspect the Amendment, any documents that support the Amendment and the Explanatory Report about the Amendment, free of charge, at the following locations: 

Any person who may be affected by the Amendment may make a submission to the planning authority about the Amendment. Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the Amendment is supported or opposed and indicating what changes (if any) the submitter wishes to make.

Name and contact details of submitters are required for Council to consider submissions and to notify such persons of the opportunity to attend Council meetings and any public hearing held to consider submissions. The closing date for submissions is Monday, 4 April 2022. A submission must be sent to the Greater Shepparton City Council, Locked Bag 1000, Shepparton VIC 3632, or via email to council@shepparton.vic.gov.au.

The planning authority must make a copy of every submission available at its office for any person to inspect, free of charge, for two months after the Amendment comes into operation or lapses.

ADJUSTED DEVELOPMENT CONTRIBUTION RATES FOR THE MOOROOPNA WEST GROWTH CORRIDOR

The development contribution rates for the Mooroopna West Growth Corridor are adjusted annually for the duration of the Mooroopna West Growth Corridor Development Contributions Plan. The following rates were adjusted on 24 February 2022 and are applicable from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022. These rates should be read in conjunction with Schedule 3 to the Development Contributions Plan Overlay in the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme.

PROPOSED SALE OF LAND AT 45 PARKSIDE DRIVE SHEPPARTON

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking community feedback in accordance with section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020 (the Act) on its intention to sell part of the land at 45 Parkside Drive, Shepparton.

Council received a request on 21 December 2021 to realise an Affordable Housing project from Women’s Housing Ltd.

As part of its community engagement process, Council is inviting submissions on the proposal to sell the land. Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing by no later than Monday, 28 March 2022.

You can make a submission by emailing it to council@shepparton.vic.gov.au, completing it on online at https://shaping.greatershepparton.com.au/ or posting it to Greater Shepparton City Council, Locked Bag 1000, Shepparton VIC 3632. Submissions should be titled ‘Notice of Intention to Sell Land – 45 Parkside Drive, Shepparton’.

Submitters may also request in their submission that they wish to appear in person/online, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, in support of the submission at a meeting of Council on a date, time and place to be determined by Council.

Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to sell the land, part of the land or not to sell the land.

Any person making a written submission is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.

The following rates were adjusted on 16 February 2022 and are applicable from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022. These rates should be read in conjunction with Schedule 4 to the Development Contributions Plan Overlay in the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme.

PROPOSED SALE OF SURPLUS COUNCIL PROPERTY

At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 20 October 2015, Council declared that Lot 2 LP75984, shown in the accompanying plan circled in red, is no longer required for Council use and could therefore be declared surplus to requirements. The property was offered for sale at an auction in 2016, was not sold and remains in Council ownership.

Greater Shepparton City Council hereby gives public notice, in accordance with Section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020, of the Council’s determination that the land may be sold via tender, auction or private treaty at a price determined by a licensed valuer.
