Greater Shepparton City Council endorsed the release of the Draft 2018-2021 Universal Access and Inclusion Plan for public display for a period of three weeks until 12 July.

The Draft 2018-2021 Universal Access and Inclusion Plan has a broad scope designed to identify and address the barriers that all sectors of the community encounter in their day-to-day life.

The Draft 2018-2021 Universal Access and Inclusion Plan outlines the ways in which Council intends to improve access for all citizens. Council has an important role to play in supporting the liveability of the region for people with a disability. The Draft 2018-2021 Universal Access and Inclusion Plan sets out a practical approach to improve the accessibility and inclusiveness of Council's infrastructure, services and information over time.

Greater Shepparton City Council Acting Director Community Amanda Tingay said “This plan includes a range of strategies and actions targeted at reducing barriers that people encounter when accessing services, information, support and using Council infrastructure.”

“Council is committed to the implementation of the Plan over the next four years. Importantly, the plan will be monitored by the Disability Advisory Committee to ensure its effectiveness.” Ms Tingay said.
