Stevens Crescent Park equipment installed

Greater Shepparton City Council will celebrate the opening of new recreation facilities at Stevens Crescent Park in Mooroopna. The equipment has been identified by local residents as a need due to the lack of play equipment currently available at the park.

The Mooroopna Community Plan Committee together with Greater Shepparton City Council have worked with local residents to drive the project, which includes a stand-alone shelter, basketball court and ring, picnic table, bench, additional trees and nature play elements installed, together with timber poles and rock boulders for climbing and playing.

Greater Shepparton City Council Acting Director Community Amanda Tingay is excited for the local community to start enjoying the new play facilities.

“Council would like to thank the Committee and local community who have been very proactive in supporting this project, through hosting regular community events in the park and local fundraising, bringing this project to fruition.” Ms. Tingay said.

The project is supported by 14 funding partners, including:

  • Greater Shepparton City Council
  • Australian Government
  • Department of Health and Human Services – Community Shade Grant Program
  • Bendigo Bank – Connected Communities
