Pets For Adoption

Dogs, cats, and other animals are available for adoption from the Shepparton Animal Shelter.

Please note: The Shepparton Animal Shelter closes 12 noon on Wednesday 24 December 2025 and will reopen at 10am on Monday 5 January 2026. See operating hours and changed conditions for Council services during this time.

If you wish to apply to adopt an animal, please submit your Adoption Application online and staff will review applications after 5 January 2026.

Complete the Animal Adoption Questionnaire form.
The Shepparton Animal Shelter will contact you to talk about adopting. If the animal is available, an appointment will be made for you to attend the Shepparton Animal Shelter for a 'meet and greet', which can take about 30 minutes.
