FamilyCare

FamilyCare is a non-government, not-for-profit organisation, offering welfare, carer and disability support services to families and young people in Shepparton, Seymour, Cobram, Kinglake, Wallan and surrounding districts, and have been providing these services to people in the Goulburn Valley since 1984.

FamilyCare works with individuals, families and communities to increase wellbeing, build strengths and encourage optimism. Our vision is strong families and communities. FamilyCare relies heavily on volunteers to support these programs and services.

Volunteer Opportunities

Child and Family Services provide relevant support and services to families. The various programs and activities that are offered under this umbrella are designed to enhance parent to child, partner to partner & sibling to sibling interactions. Volunteers work alongside staff to assist in providing group support activities for families. 

Carer Support Services aims to support carers through the provision of short-term respite, information and support. Carers support is looking for volunteers to support carers by spending time with the person that they care for. This enables the carer to have a short break away from their caring responsibilities, while the volunteer provides companionship and support to the care recipient.

Disability Support Services operates the IntoRec Program to support children and young people with a disability by providing recreational opportunities and specialised support options. Young Peer Support volunteers work alongside the children and young people to support them to access and participate in the activities.

The Book Inn is a second hand book store located at 94 Wyndham Street Shepparton and is managed by dedicated Volunteers. The shop has a large variety of books catering for all ages. Book Inn volunteers work in the shop as part of the team that sells the books that have been generously donated. For anyone with an interest in books or literature this is an ideal place to volunteer.
