Court Network

Court Network is free and confidential non-legal community service. We specifically provide non-legal support, information, referrals, and advocacy.

All of our services are provided by dedicated volunteers who are highly trained and skilled.

All of our services are available to all court users, including, victims, witnesses, accused, family, friends, parents, and guardians.

Our Programs

Victorian In-Court Program: 

Eligibility:

  • Available across 29 Courts in Victoria including Magistrates, VCAT, County, Supreme, Coroners and Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
  • Over 18 years of age.

Victorian Telephone Service:

Eligibility:

  • Available to any court user attending court in Victoria.
  • Over 18 years of age. 

Online Support Service:

Eligibility:

  • Available to court users attending VCAT teleconference or zoom hearings.
  • Identify as having a disability or mental health concern.
  • Only available through referral via Disability Liaison Officer.
  • Over 18 years of age

The range of support includes:  

  • Pre-court support, during court support and post court support.
  • Non-legal information about what happens before, during and after court.
  • Information about court etiquette, explaining court processes and how to navigate court on the day.
  • Help the court users navigate the court on the day and provide practical information.
  • Assist you to get the help you need to address your safety concerns and arrange access to safe spaces.
  • Non-legal support to prepare for court.
  • Referrals to legal services and community legal centres.
  • Help you to understand the potential outcomes, and next steps that you might have to take.
  • Providing referral pathways to key support services.
  • Information on how to navigate online court hearings.
