Down Syndrome Victoria
Mission
We work alongside people with Down syndrome and their families to reach their potential and live the life they choose.
What we do
DSV is the peak organisation representing people with Down syndrome and their families in Victoria. We offer a range of services and supports across the lifespan including family and adult support, employment connections, education support and running social programs such as Club21.
Volunteering in Shepparton
Club21 (Shepparton) is a peer support network for people with Down syndrome to develop friendships and share group-based, social experiences with the support of a group leader and volunteers. Volunteers assist with practical tasks such as getting on and off public transport, crossing roads, choosing menu items and providing companionship and support during the activity. Activities are varied and may include going bowling & having lunch, attending a market, arts festival or musical – there is something for everyone. Activities are weekends-only for 3-4 hours. Further information can be found on our webpage: Club21 – Down Syndrome VIC
Requirements
Anyone looking to volunteer in the program will be willing to provide/obtain an NDIS Worker Screening check (free for volunteers).
