Goulburn Valley Libraries

Purpose

Goulburn Valley Libraries, with the assistance of volunteers, provide a Home Library Service to residents of the Greater Shepparton area. The aim is to ensure that people who are homebound or physically unable to visit are still able to continue to receive a library service. Both Shepparton and Mooroopna libraries provide this free service to eligible members of the community.

Library staff select books, magazines, DVDs, and other Library materials according to the preferences of the member.

Volunteers make deliveries on a fortnightly or monthly basis.

The service is provided in conjunction with the Friends Of the Library volunteer groups.

Volunteers are required to have the following:

  • A Friends Of the Library membership;
  • A current drivers licence;
  • A police check;

Volunteers will be provided with information about their role and the members who will receive this service upon signing up to the Home Library Service.
