The Road Management Plan outlines how Council manages, inspects, and maintains local roads and roadside assets across the region. It sets out service levels and response timeframes, helping ensure the network remains safe and accessible for all users.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said community feedback plays a vital role in shaping how Council delivers this essential service.
“This is an important document that outlines how we look after our local road network, from small rural roads to major town thoroughfares,” he said.
“We want to make sure our approach reflects the needs and expectations of the community, so we’re encouraging residents to review the draft and tell us what they think before the consultation period ends.”
The updated plan follows a new Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) template that promotes consistency across councils. While the template has provided a fresh framework, Greater Shepparton has maintained flexibility to set standards tailored to local needs.
Updates to the plan include clearer role definitions, refined maintenance standards, and formatting changes to improve readability.
