Watters Electrical Pty Ltd have been awarded the contract to install solar lighting along the unlit section of shared path along the Midland Highway, between Elsie Jones Drive and WB Ferrari Park Recreation Reserve Entrance.
The works will commence on Tuesday 9 April, with anticipated completion by Friday 12 April 2024.
A smart solar lighting solution will be used which is designed to provide positive outcomes for local residents and visitors to the area, including:
The lighting will operate from dusk till dawn and automatically adjust the light levels depending on activity along the path. This infrastructure will provide a positive economic solution through utilising renewable energy, whilst also reducing the impact of light pollution by automatically adjusting light levels to suit the needs of path users.
Traffic management will be in place along the work site for the duration of the works. Disruption is anticipated to be minimal.
