Applications are now open for new members aged 12-25 years to join The MACC and be part of the planning and delivery of local music, arts and cultural events for young people.
Greater Shepparton City Council was successful in receiving funding from the Victorian Government, FReeZA program, who previously supported the popular Word and Mouth group, to encourage and promote youth-friendly events.
Through initiatives such as FReeZA and The MACC, young people can take a central role in staging events in the local community said Mayor for Greater Shepparton City Council, Cr Shane Sali.
“This is a great opportunity for our young people to develop skills in leading, organising and developing events as well as showcasing their skills and talents and being seen in the community,” he said.
“It’s important we continue to celebrate and recognise the important contribution young people make to the cultural life of our community and The MACC will provide new and diverse opportunities to do so.”
The MACC will plan, run and support safe, youth-friendly events for young people. These events will include a variety of upskilling, cultural, recreational and music events that will be reflective of the interests of young people in our community.
If you’re aged between 12-25 and love music, arts, culture or events, we want to hear from you. Applications close Monday 12 December.
Apply online at Shaping Greater Shepparton or phone Council on 5832 9700 and ask to speak with Council’s Youth Development Officer.
