Ben Ladson elected to Council in countback

Ben Ladson was today elected to Greater Shepparton City Council in a countback, following the resignation of Councillor Kim O’Keeffe in November last year.

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) conducted the countback of the votes from the October 2020 Council Election to determine who the incoming Councillor would be.

This will be the first time Mr Ladson has served as a Councillor.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali congratulated Mr Ladson on his appointment, saying he looked forward to working alongside him in his new position as Councillor.

“On behalf of Council, I welcome Ben to the team and look forward to working with him to achieve strong outcomes for our community,” he said.

Mr Ladson has 48 hours to formally accept the position, and if so, will be officially sworn in as Councillor at a later date.
