This Sunday you will be able to enjoy the much-loved community event, Carols by Candlelight, from the comfort of your home as the annual celebration is brought to you completely online this year.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Councillor Kim O’Keeffe said it was important we celebrate and reconnect as a community.
“We have had to miss out on a lot of our favourite events this year, so Council is extremely pleased to be able to bring this performance for the community to celebrate going into the New Year,” Cr Kim O’Keeffe said.
“We’ve come so far over the last few months and it is great to see everyone supporting our local businesses, so I hope over the holiday period everyone continues to do their part in keeping up with healthy hygiene practices, keeping their distance, covering a cough or sneeze and most importantly staying home if they are feeling unwell, get tested if symptoms are present, and celebrate in a safe manner.
“So please share the link to the Carols performance, help set up viewing for friends, families or neighbours and let’s celebrate as a community from our living rooms or backyards in the recommended group sizes.”
Talented locals have come together to perform everyone’s favourite festive songs at Riverlinks West Side theatre which will be available to stream online from 7pm this Sunday on Council’s website, Youtube channel and Facebook page or listen live on ONEFM 98.5.
