Cultural diversity will be on show for Converge on the Goulburn on Saturday 19 March at Victoria Park Lake.
Converge aims to embrace, preserve and celebrate one of the region’s greatest assets, our multiculturalism, by bringing the community together through food, culture and performances from Greater Shepparton’s Aboriginal and multicultural communities.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Councillor Kim O’Keeffe said Converge celebrates the richness of the community.
“The entire community is invited to come down to Victoria Park Lake and take part in the festivities, it’s the perfect way for you and your family to learn more about and experience the values, rituals and traditions of the many cultures that call Greater Shepparton home,” Cr O’Keeffe said.
Converge will feature dynamic cultural art displays and attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the artists, or enjoy a feast of flavoursome cuisine cooked by some of our many local communities, food trucks and local businesses.
The much loved event is part of the Shepparton Festival program which is highly valued and anticipated by community members and visitors each year.
“Council and the Shepparton Festival have a long standing relationship and it is exciting to see the Converge festival be part of the opening weekend once again and show the region’s thriving multicultural community. Converge is a great example of how strong, diverse and welcoming our community is, we all benefit when we embrace one another’s traditions and cultures.” Cr O’Keeffe said.
Converge on the Goulburn is a COVID Safe event.
