Changes to management of community support services

A new provider will deliver the aged care services currently provided by Greater Shepparton City Council from 1 July 2022.

These services include

  • meals on wheels and community meals
  • home modifications
  • access and support at home
  • social connection programs.

These services will be delivered by a new provider to be appointed by the Australian Government shortly.

Current services will be delivered by Greater Shepparton City Council until 30 June 2022. After that the services will continue, delivered by a new service provider.

Council will work with any new providers to help make sure the services transition to new arrangements smoothly, and will work closely with clients and stakeholders throughout the transition.

Greater Shepparton City Council Director Community, Louise Mitchell, said community and home support services will not be disrupted as part of this change.

“Council will work closely with clients and stakeholders to help make sure the transition to new service arrangements proceeds smoothly’ she said. “Council has staff in place to work with every client currently receiving our services, so that they have all the information and support they need in the coming months”.

All clients of the services have been contacted regarding the up-coming changes. Enquiries can be directed to 03 5832 9785 or email council@shepparton.vic.gov.au
