Greater Shepparton City Council is demonstrating their commitment to simplifying the job application process by hosting an upcoming Recruitment Day for Parks, Sport, Recreation and Infrastructure Maintenance roles. The Recruitment Day is set to make the job application process easier, quicker and more accessible for those interested in a rewarding career.
Set to take place on Wednesday 28 February 2024, the Recruitment Day will offer an inclusive and relaxed environment for interested candidates to apply for roles through informal conversations with Council staff. The event will provide two sessions, with Infrastructure Maintenance starting at 8.15am, and Parks, Sport and Recreation commencing at 12.30pm, both held at the McIntosh Centre in Shepparton. Registrations are essential.
Greater Shepparton City Council Manager Infrastructure Maintenance, Timothy Zak, said Council were looking forward to chatting with potential employees at the event and assisting them with a fast-tracked recruitment process.
"Our Infrastructure Maintenance Department plays a crucial role in enhancing and preserving Greater Shepparton’s public spaces. These positions offer individuals with the opportunity to actively contribute to shaping our community for the better,” he said.
“If you love the outdoors, are looking for a career, and enjoy working in a team environment then we have a place for you in our team.” The event will offer an informal, pressure free and interactive environment.
“Our team is excited to meet potential candidates in person, to hear their stories and passions, and to match them with the right roles.”
Greater Shepparton City Council Acting Manager Parks, Sport and Recreation, Steve Wilson, said working in the Horticulture sector is extremely rewarding, and offers the opportunity to really make an impact.
“Each day presents a new opportunity to positively contribute to the wellbeing of our community. I strongly encourage anyone interested in this field to attend the Recruitment Day and take your next step towards a fulfilling career,” he said.
There are currently Casual positions in Parks, Sport and Recreation and full-time Infrastructure Maintenance positions available.
Council looks forward to the recruitment initiative bringing a fresh wave of dedicated and passionate individuals to its Parks, Sport, Recreation and Infrastructure Maintenance teams and invites everyone interested to register now via the Greater Shepparton City Council website https://shepp.city/recruitment-day
