Feedback wanted on Draft Youth Strategy

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking feedback from the community on its draft Youth Strategy and Action Plan 2019 - 2022.

Greater Shepparton City Council’s Youth Strategy and Action Plan is an important document that provides a vision and a four year strategic plan responding to the key needs of young people aged between 12-25 years of age who live, study, work and recreate in Greater Shepparton.

Greater Shepparton Mayor Kim O’Keeffe said Council recognised the significant contribution young people make to our community.

“Significant consultation has been carried out with young people and the youth sector from across Greater Shepparton, with various forums and meetings held to gather ideas on the role of Council supporting young people and the youth sector.” Cr O’Keeffe said.

“The suggestions raised have been pivotal in informing the key directions of the strategy.”

“We have developed this strategy and are now asking people to give us their feedback. We will be seeking feedback in a number of ways and I strongly encourage young people, their families, the youth sector and the wider community to have their say on the draft strategy.”

The Draft Youth Strategy and Action Plan is available on Council’s website here and at Council’s Welsford Street Office.

Feedback on the strategy will be received until 5pm on Monday 17 December. Feedback can be made online here or in person at Council’s Welsford Street Office.
