Greater Shepparton City Council is already feeling the festive cheer, with the installation of Christmas decorations beginning this week.
Decorations will be installed across Greater Shepparton in the lead up to Christmas, with locals and visitors encouraged to keep their eye out for the festive ornaments over the coming weeks. This year’s decoration display includes Christmas trees, light post bows, LED stars, several Santa and reindeer figures, a Christmas sleigh, Christmas Mooving Art Cows and present boxes.
A highlight of this year’s festive decorations includes the installation of Santa’s mail box outside the Post Office in Wyndham Street, Shepparton. Children are able to post their letters to Santa up until Friday 3 December to make sure it reaches the North Pole in time.
Letters must be addressed to:
Santa
NORTH POLE 9999
To ensure Santa can reply to your letter, please attach a 65c Christmas card-only stamp on the front of the envelope and write your name and address on the back. Please note that Santa can only reply to Australian addresses.
Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe said she hoped the festive season was a positive and joyful time for the community after the challenging year due to COVID-19.
“We hope this year’s Christmas decorations bring a little festive cheer to the region. Keep your eye out for the decorations across Greater Shepparton over the coming weeks,” she said.
“I encourage children to write their letter to Santa and drop it in to Santa’s mail box, however make sure you get it in by Friday 3 December so he has time to reply to everyone.”
