Greater Shepparton City Council encourages Greater Shepparton community groups to apply for funding under the Victorian Government’s Let's Stay Connected Fund.
The fund supports community-led and community-based initiatives that build connection, reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation and can be implemented quickly – providing much-needed support while the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect Victoria.
Grants between $5,000 and $200,000 are available.
The fund will support initiatives that help community groups continue to operate by adapting the way they deliver programs or events, including through online forums.
Other possibilities include support for communities to improve digital skills and access online communication channels, or new ways for people to continue volunteering within their communities while maintaining physical distancing requirements.
It is hoped the program will:
“This pandemic has forced our community to physical and social distance, so any initiatives that bring us together as a community – virtually and safely – are positive,” Mayor Cr Seema Abdullah said.
“We encourage our various local community groups to read through the guidelines and see whether any of their new or existing initiatives may be suited to the Let's Stay Connected Fund.”
All applications are to be submitted no later than 31 August 2020.
More information on the program including the application process, guidelines and funding details can be found on the RDV website.
