Future of KidsTown Adventure Playground continues to progress

Greater Shepparton City Council is pleased to advise of the progress being made on the future of KidsTown Adventure Playground.

Following Council's formal commitment in August 2025 to revitalising KidsTown, extensive community consultation was undertaken in September 2025, providing the community with the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the site.

The Master Plan is currently being designed and is anticipated to be completed later this year. Once finalised, it will be made available for community review, with further public consultation to follow.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali said KidsTown holds a special place in the hearts of many community members.

"KidsTown has been the place of memories for generations. The community has told us they want the site returned to its former glory, and Council has committed to making that happen," he said.

"I know the community has lots of ideas about what should be included and how the site should look. Once the Master Plan design is complete, the community will have the opportunity to provide further input and tell us exactly what they want to see at the site."

In addition to the Master Plan design phase, remediation works were undertaken earlier this year to remove ageing infrastructure that was no longer accessible or safe for public use.

"KidsTown is a much-loved community asset, and I am excited to see continued progress," Cr Sali said.

"We have made a formal commitment to ensuring KidsTown Adventure Playground is accessible, safe and well used for many years to come. That commitment has not changed, and work behind the scenes continues."

As previously communicated, a number of commemorative bricks were carefully removed as part of recent remediation works. These bricks are currently being stored and will be reinstated as part of future works at the site.

The draft Master Plan will be made publicly available once finalised, with further community consultation to be scheduled.
