Greater Shepparton City Council has constructed formal car parking spaces and footpath at Goyen Reserve as part of the Princess Park Recreation Reserve Master Plan improving accessibility, aesthetic appearance and utilisation of public space.
Works commenced in late November and were completed recently. Works included construction of drainage, road pavement, concreting, public lighting and minor landscaping.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure Phil Hoare said “it is great to see works complete on another part of the Princess Park Master Plan. This part of Princess Park has been used informally for car parking and these works have improved the look and accessibility of the area”.
“The intention is for Goyen Reserve to be available to the community as an attractive open space for social activities. The works have created all-weather accessible parking for the reserve, Shepparton Italian Social Club and overflow CBD parking.” said Mr Hoare.
