The Greater Shepparton Women’s Charter Alliance Advisory Committee’s (GSWCAAC) survey on Gender Equity is now open for consultation. The GSWCAAC is hoping to have as many people as possible fill the survey out, so it can inform the development of the GSWCAAC’s new 3x3 action plan.
The Greater Shepparton Women’s Charter Alliance Advisory Committee (GSWCAAC) is a community advisory committee of the Greater Shepparton City Council, and is part of a broader network of Local Government Area (LGA) advisory committees across the state that are guided and informed by the Victorian Local Government Women’s Charter.
The Committee is made up of volunteers who, with Council support, aim to increase women’s participation in key decision making forums in the community and in democratic governance.
The Committee supports three main principles: Gender Equity, Diversity, and Active Citizenship.
The ‘Gender Equity’ survey is the first of three surveys that will be undertaken on the GSWCAAC’s three main principles.
Charter Champion and Councillor Dinny Adem is encouraging as many members of the community to fill out the survey as possible, as the results will be utilised for the future directions of the GSWCAAC.
“The feedback provided will inform the development of an action plan that will guide the GSWCAAC’s work, and in turn, will be used to advise and support Greater Shepparton City Council’s work in promoting the principles,” Cr Adem said.
The survey can be found at http://bit.ly/WCAAC or by searching on the Greater Shepparton City Council’s website.
The survey closes on 21 April 2015.
