Greater Shepparton City Council is excited to welcome back the Illuminate festival to the shores of Victoria Park Lake next month. The event creates a full sensory experience, incorporating lights, music and food in a way that celebrates the region and builds Greater Shepparton’s brand as regional Victoria’s abundant, dynamic, cultural capital.
The lake precinct will once again come to life for a two-night celebration, featuring mesmerising lighting installations and experiences, a glowing line-up of music performers, flavour punching food trucks, roving and illuminated performances, and a striking laser light show running hourly throughout the two nights.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said Council was excited to have Illuminate return after a very successful debut in March 2022.
“Illuminate promises to be a dynamic festival. Last year an estimated 20,000 people attended across the weekend, coming from 167 different destinations right around Victoria and interstate. We look forward to once again delivering a unique event and welcoming back visitors to be part of the art and cultural developments of our region.”
“With the event happening over two evenings it also presents an exciting opportunity for visitors to make a weekend of it and share the magic of our region’s diversity, experiences and visitor attractions, providing an important economic boost to our local businesses and visitor economy as we continue our recovery from the impacts of last October’s flood event”, Councillor Sali said.
Illuminate will come to life on Friday 5 May at 6.00pm and conclude on Saturday 6 May at 10.00pm. For more details on the festival head to the event listing on the Shepparton & Goulburn Valley website:
