Immerse yourself in Indigenous culture with a walk on the Flats

Immerse yourself in local Aboriginal culture this Saturday on the RiverConnect and Activities in the Park Flats Walk with Uncle Leon Saunders and Uncle Rueben Baksh.

Along the walk you will learn about significant events from the past and hear personal stories about life growing up along the banks of the Goulburn River, followed by a traditional bush tucker style lunch.

Greater Shepparton City Council Director Sustainable Development Johann Rajaratnam encouraged residents to attend the walk.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about our local Indigenous culture and history,” Mr Rajaratnam said.

The walk will take place on Saturday 12 November, between 10.30am and 12.30pm, leaving from Chinaman’s Gardens in Mooroopna.

To register, please email riverconnect@shepparton.vic.gov.au or call 5832 9714.
