Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking community input on what they feel are the important matters regarding the multicultural community. The new strategy and action plan will build on the previous strategy and help Council continue to support its vibrant, cohesive community as well as strengthen partnerships with communities, service providers and other stakeholders.
Greater Shepparton Mayor Councillor Kim O’Keeffe said Council’s vision for this region is of a vibrant, cohesive society which celebrates and incorporates aspects of cultural diversity within daily life.
“It is important that Greater Shepparton continues to be a welcoming place for migrants and provides opportunities for the CALD community,” Cr O’Keeffe said.
“I encourage people to fill out a short survey and provide their ideas on multiculturalism in Greater Shepparton. If you would like to meet with a staff member to provide your thoughts, contact the Council office.”
Community feedback is welcomed via the following methods, with submissions closing 5pm Friday 19 October:
