Greater Shepparton City Council advises local area traffic of road works to occur in the following Mooroopna streets; Elizabeth, Treacy, McKean, O’Brien and Northgate.
The works will involve the installation of speed cushions at nine sites, with associated kerb extensions and islands where required. These works are part of the Mooroopna Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) study which was developed in 2020 following community consultation in October and November 2019. Feedback from the community highlighted concerns from the local residents regarding traffic speed, traffic volumes and driver behaviour in the area east of Echuca Road and north of McLennan Street.
The upgrades will begin 28 March 2023 and will be completed by the end of May 2023, subject to weather and other factors. The working hours will be Monday to Friday, between 7.00am and 6.00pm. It is expected each site installation will be completed within one day.
Access to adjacent properties will be maintained throughout the works and where required, temporary alternative routes will be signposted.
Council reminds residents to obey traffic management direction and signage.
