These September school holidays will see the return of KidsFest, a favorite for many Victorian kids and their families
Spread over two big days, Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st of September, a number of big acts will descend on Kidstown with something to suit kids of all ages.
The headline acts include Dirt Girl, Dr. Seuss - Cat in the Hat live show, How to Train your Dragon 2, Mr Peabody & Sherman & back by popular demand Humphrey B. Bear.
KidsTown Playground Coordinator Steve Wilson said KidsFest is now in its ninth year and has established itself as a fun packed event for the whole family.
“This year’s festival features a number of high profile children’s entertainers as well as sporting activities, African drumming and dancing workshops, Kids Karaoke tent, children’s crafts and loads with roving entertainment,” Mr Wilson said.
“There will also be a sideshow alley area with lots of rides, woodturning demonstrations, arts and crafts displays, and an area dedicated to sporting activities.
“KidsFest is great value family entertainment and there is something for everyone, so put the dates in your diary now.”
Entry is $2.00 per person and covers most activities. The event runs between 10.00am and 4.00pm each day. Council will also be running a courtesy bus to and from the event, times and pick up locations can be found on the KidsFest website listed below.
KidsFest is also taking applications for volunteers to help with a number of roles during the festival. More information regarding this as well as further information about the event can be obtained from the team at KidsTown on 5831 4213 or via the website at www.sheppkidsfest.com.au
