Applications close next Wednesday 30 June, for the inaugural Greater Shepparton Youth Committee.
Young champions aged between 12 to 25 years are encouraged to get their applications in for the committee in a bid to share their priorities and aspirations with Greater Shepparton City Council.
The committee, which is a new initiative of Council, aims to provide a platform for diverse and passionate young people to come together to further develop their skills and to actively get involved in the community.
It also provides an outlet for local young people to get involved in helping shape and take actions on priorities that matter to them.
Any young people who live, study, volunteer, work or play in Greater Shepparton are encouraged to apply for a position on the committee.
Applicants are asked to address several questions including what their interests are and what they like most about Greater Shepparton.
The successful applicants will need to be available for a four hour time commitment each month.
Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe reminded young locals they had one week left to apply, encouraging them to get creative with their applications.
“We would love to receive as many applications as possible for the inaugural committee as this is an extremely important initiative for our local young people,” she said.
“We want them to be able to have a voice, speak up and make a change.”
Applications for the Greater Shepparton Youth Committee can be made via the Shaping Greater Shepp website: https://shaping.greatershepparton.com.au/
